Schöller Special Machines (SSM) is one of the leading manufacturers of tunnel excavators and customized machinery. SSM is the successor of the well-known Terex-Schaeff tunnelling & mining division.Our product range includes tunnel excavators from 7 to 46 ton (with diesel or electric drive), tunnel heading & loading machines, tunnel wheel loaders and customized Volvo construction machines (Volvo SAS partner – Special Application Solutions), Volvo excavators with electric drive or Twin Drive (diesel & electric) as well as special machinery for extraordinary applications.

Volvo SSM Tunnel Excavators
All tunnel excavator models are based on trusted and reliable Volvo basic machines and are equipped with diesel drive as standard; optionally, they are also available with an emission-free electric drive or an TwinDrive (Diesel & Electric).
Customized Machines
With their experienced, innovative and highly motivated team, SSM specializes on conversions and customized machines based on Volvo’s tried and tested construction machines, along with design, manufacture and assembly, including documentation and CE certification.
Electric Excavators
SSM offers a range of Volvo construction machines with electric drive or with TwinDrive (diesel and electric motor) for maximum flexibility in use.
Through SSM in association with its partners in the Volvo SAS network (Special Application Solutions), various excavator models with electric or twin drive are available – always as Volvo machines, with manufacturer's guarantee and CE certification.
